  This store is HORRENDOUS. Many of their puppies are sick and/or have serious health issues that will effect them for the rest of their lives, such as cataracts and joint problems. They are not given enough food or proper medical attention (until it is too late, that is). If you hold one of their puppies, they are generally thinner than the average pup and feel extremely fragile. On top of this, dogs are left with poop in their tiny cages for hours on end. They keep two to three great dane puppies in cages barely suitable for the same amount of beagles. Moving on from the dogs, they keep too many rabbits, ferrets, and guinea pigs in the same enclosure. When I say too many, I mean so many to the point that many of them have injuries and are food aggressive. These animals often show signs of boredom and depression as well. There is often not enough food in the enclosures for guinea pigs, and many are left starving. The rabbits are also far from socialized, and very anxious. Due to the lack of room and food, animals often fight, leaving them with open wounds that are often left untreated and then get infected. This brings me to my next point: chinchillas. The chins are kept in an enclosure far too hot for them, and they show signs of overheating (such as red ears, drooling, and unresponsiveness. Not to mention that the paint on the wood most of the enclosure is made out of is TOXIC to them. And they have nothing else to chew on. Chins are rodents. Therefore, they need to chew. With nothing else to chew on, they chew on this wood and inject the toxic paint, which can cause health issues and death. Cats are kept in the same kind of enclosure, right next to the chins. This cage is, yet again, too hot for the cats. They often don't have enough water. These are kittens, and get bored easily, and have very, very few toys. The enclosure is also way too small for these kittens (again the exact same enclosure fits CHINCHILLAS). So not only are these kittens bored and cramped, they have nowhere to hide to get away from public eye for just a second. Not a moment of privacy. Anyone who knows cats, knows that they need a place to hide for a bit. But Pat's Pets does not provide this for them. This leaves them, also, with no way to get away from the heat of the lights on them. Moving on to the feeder mice. I have seen up to fifty or sixty feeder mice in one twenty gallon tank. This is animal cruelty-no way around it. It doesn't matter if they are "simply food." They are alive, and should not suffer during their time alive. These mice are constantly injured. I've seen mice with their tails ripped of, toes dangling from their feet, and ears missing. Many of their reptiles are underweight and unhealthy, and kept in tanks far too small to accommodate their size. Contrary to popular belief, reptiles do NOT only grow to the size of their exhibit. Keeping young/growing reptiles in a tank too small with cause bone deformities. I have seen the employees of this store carelessly throw puppies into the arms of eager children with one hand. I've seen them yell and swat at the puppies. I have seen them BLATANTLY lie to concerned customers about the health and wellbeing of their animals. These are not lives to this store. These are not pets. They are profit. These animals (not just the dogs) come from mills that mass produce them. There is a reason they don't let you take pictures there. They don't want the cruelty exposed. Please, for the love of all animals, do not buy from here. Go to a reputable breeder or a rescue. The prices of these unhealthy animals is not only ridiculous for what you are getting. It is also the price of an industry that runs on abusing animals over and over and over again.

  Sold me a puppy with a "cough" then didn't inform me that it was kennel cough of give me any instructions on what do do. We brought him home to our other dogs when then got kennel cough and now after paying $40 each to have the other dogs checked out by a vet not including the price of the perscriptions and their refills I have spend an extra $200 and 6 weeks of my time trying to cure all of the dogs in my home. Would not recommend doing business with them.

  I'm very disappointed with this store. All the employees just stand there and talk. I've had to bring the attention to them at least three times at different visits. I have contacted the human society about this. PLEASE do the same. I won't rest until this store is closed down.
